Forward Publishing Wins Gold at the Best of Swiss Software Award
Forward Publishing has won Gold in the Cloud Native Solutions category at the Best of Swiss Software Award 2025, recognizing the publishing infrastructure powering CH Media’s 15 news portals and 30 native mobile apps. Developed by G+D Netcetera, the cloud-native platform forms the digital backbone of CH Media, Switzerland’s third-largest private media company. The award particularly recognized its ability to deliver hyperlocal content to around 750 municipalities across the publisher’s regional news brands.
A New Publishing Infrastructure for CH Media
As part of its NOVA transformation program, CH Media rebuilt its publishing infrastructure from the ground up. At the heart of the new architecture is an event-driven content delivery hub that efficiently distributes CMS content across every digital platform—providing high performance, scalability, and low latency.
The award jury highlighted both the technical complexity and the business impact of the project:

Technical Innovation with Measurable Impact
Forward Publishing’s event-sourcing architecture enables real-time content updates across every delivery channel while significantly improving system performance. Portal load times were reduced from around one minute to just 0.3 seconds—a 200-fold improvement.
At the same time, infrastructure costs on AWS fell by 45 percent, while the adoption of AWS Graviton processors improved energy efficiency by a further 60 percent.
Since going live in full production on 1 May 2025, the platform has been delivering news to millions of readers every day across CH Media’s regional titles, including Aargauer Zeitung, BZ, and St. Galler Tagblatt.
